I found a a fun inspiration pic at Outback Scrapping:

Birds of a Feather

This layout is based on the sketch challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks:

The extra criteria is to use something metal, and I thought it would be fitting to use this cute heart-shaped paper clip, which I received in a mixed goodie bag from Mystical a little while back:

It's a crossover challenge with Archi-Scraps this month, where the theme is Pets. Of course I couldn't resist scrapping another duck photograph!

Materials:

Echo Park Life is Good - Journal Cards (fussy cut flower)
Prima Say it in Crystals - Melody lace

Another windmill

The July inspiration image at Creative Embellishments made me smile:

I love windmills... of all kinds.  One day I'd like to see a 'real' Dutch windmill, but until then I'll continue to enjoy our Australian ones.  I interpretted the challenge literally, and took inspiration from the windmill itself:

The twist is to use something made from wood; I used CE Fall Leaves wood veneers:

I used sketch #142 from Sketchabilities:

I'd also like to submit my layout for Clique Kits Anything Goes challenge.

Other materials:
October Afternoon Sasparillia - Wide Open Spaces patterned paper
Cosmo Cricket 2wenty Thr3e - Postcards patterned paper
Basic Grey Urban Couture - Pashmina patterned paper
Portacraft metallic alphabet stickers

Is never to feel the burning light.”

National Youth Week

I've had these photos from National Youth Week printed out for a while but I didn't really know what I was going to do with them.  I decided it was time to scrap them and move on, so I picked a few different challenges to inspire me. This is the layout:

The July stash challenge at Scrap Our Stash inspired my choice of materials ~ always a good feeling to rummage through my stash and find something just right for the job!

P ~ Pebbles roller stamp (stamped journalling)
H ~ Hello sticker
O ~ October Afternoon paper patterned paper
T ~ Twine
O ~ Orange stickers
S ~ Stars

My layout also fits the criteria at Picture This:  2 photos + red, white, blue + stars.

For the July Scrappy Friends challenge, Rochelle's Tic Tac Toe:  Twine, stars, celebration theme

Materials:
October Afternoon Sasparilla - Pony Express patterned paper
Cocoa Vanilla Flying High stickers

Pixels and Paper July Reveal

What an inspirational picture this month at Pixels and Paper.  One day I'd love to experience this vista for real:

Here is my take:

The dry Australian landscape is a long way from the iconic domes of Santorini!  I was immediately drawn to the bold architectural shapes, which inspired my choice of background paper.  It also occurred to me that this scenic vista was framed in portrait,  whereas it is typically photographed in landscape.  (Do a quick Google search for 'Santorini' images and you'll see what I mean.)  So I did the same with the photograph choice on my layout - I used a scenery shot of what would typically be framed in landscape, and framed it in portrait instead, which does provide quite a different perspective, I think.

Materials:
Crate Paper Maggie Holmes - Click patterned paper
Bella! Sarah-Jane - Narratives journalling card
Kaisercraft Basics Pearl Strips
Prima Zephyr textured canvas alphabets
Vintage book page
