June round up

The way things are unfolding here, I'm not likely to finish any more layouts this month, so it's a good time to share some of the other layouts I created in June:

both of these were for Scrap Boutique challenges:

Scrapping an action photo with running commentary:

and she's off

And using Kate's sketch with some punches for the Stash Stomper:

The Last Day

In other projects I'm working on an OTP (**gasp**) for Crafting in Style, and a couple of new Stylish Kits too.

Lights, camera, action

Over at Crafting in Style we have been busy with the Lights, Camera, Action competition for the past six weeks. This weekend was the grand finale - with our cybercrop and announcement of the winners.

Here are a few of the weekly layouts I created:

For Week 2, inspired by the ET movie poster, and featuring a quote from ET:

For Week 4, inspired by this Pinocchio poster:

and featuring a Pinocchio quote:

Photobucket

Hmmm... I wasn't all that happy with how this layout turned out; it looked much better in my head! But it was fun to scrap these photos because it was a very unusual moment. The photographs were taken in late February, while we were visiting my dear friend Donna. My husband unpacked his new parachute and it was quite funny watching the reaction of Donna and her family seeing a 'real live parachute' inside their house, spread out all over their living room, no less!!

Anyway... back to the cybercrop. My challenge this weekend is the technique challenge - to create a layout featuring a photo-filmstrip and a movie quote. This is my sample:

The cybercrop challenges are open till midnight Monday, so there's still time to enter :)

Friday night fun

It was my turn to host Friday night bingo over at Scrap Pile tonight, and also my turn to set the weekly challenge. Details of the challenge can be found over at the forum.

This is my sample layout, using some more delicious Bo Bunny papers:

Way Too Cute

I even got a mention on the Bo Bunny blog for this one :)

This and that

There hasn't been a lot of scrap-action happening in my little world over the past few weeks. We have a lot of other happenings in our 'real' world so scrapping time has been reduced to a few snatches here and there. I do treasure my 'me time' though, and have still been scrapping whenever I can.

These ones are challenge layouts which focus on colour combinations:

For a challenge at Scrap Lounge using bright colours, three or more photographs, and bling:

Salute the Sun

For a cybercrop challenge at Scrap Boutique using green, orange and embossing:

Stormy and Cloudy

For 1,2,3 Blog Party - I used Charm's criteria and added lots of pink as one of the additional criteria:

Sweet stuff

I've been tagged by Ceci, who left me this cute blog award, thanks :) Instead of tagging someone else today, I'm just going to recommend visiting any of my links ~ they are all lovely. I also thought I'd share a few blog candy giveaways - it's always nice to check out new things and share the love around :)

Check out the blog candy links in my sidebar. I hope to keep them updated so there's always something new to visit.

Good luck, and please let me know if you win anything! I love happy news.

More cards

I've been challenging myself to make more cards, to use up my scrapbooking offcuts and to create a little stash of special cards for gift-giving instead of running to the shops. I still have trouble creating something on such a small scale but I think I'm getting better at it :)

This week I've made three cards, I think that's a personal record!

Linda set a challenge at Scrap Pile to create a shabby chic card:

CARD-Shabby Chic

And Liz set a challenge at Scrap Boutique to create a card with a transparency or acetate element:

CARD-Just 4 U

And as part of the Lights, Camera, Action competition, Manon set a challenge at Crafting in Style to create a card for somebody special:

Playing with colour

I just love colour!! My favourite colours and colour combinations change all the time, so I love colour challenges which make me mix it up a bit :)

Over at Scrap Boutique, Manon set a colour challenge for June, to use only these colours:

colours

This is my take (using the first four colours only):

Outtakes

At Scrap Pile this week, Kylie's colour challenge was to create a layout using black and hot pink:

Snake

And this is just another layout that I did for a cybercrop challenge at Scrap Boutique last month ~ I didn't set out for it to be monochromatic but it kind of happened that way, LOL! The criteria was to use one photo, a two-word title, three different papers, and only four embellishments:

Sketchy fun

Liz's sketch for June has been revealed at A Page from my Sketchbook, and it's fabulous! Here is my take:

More greens and yellows ~ I seem to be using those colours a lot lately.

At the Scrap Pile

This month at Scrap Pile I've been playing with some gorgeous citrus-y greens and yellows. I especially love the Basic Grey Lime Rickey papers. These are the first of my DT layouts for June:

Ray of Sunshine

Quiet Glade

I also love the Bazzill Dotted Swiss cardstock and it goes so well with other spotty papers too:

Inspiration ABC

The June Inspiration ABC challenge is up at Scrap Pile; the details can be found HERE.

This is my sample layout for the challenge, using up some of my older stash too:

Puppy Love

It has lots of my favourite things in it ~ teal, red, spots, stitching, circles, bling, b/w photographs, butterflies, heat embossing, flowers.
